Treasurer’s House

Treasurer’s House is located a few metres from the York Minster and has a history spanning 2,000 years. The house features a collection of antiques including furniture, ceramics, textiles and paintings.

Vue Cinema

Vue Cinema is the biggest cinema in York width 12 screens and is located at Clifton Moor.

York Art Gallery

The York Art Gallery hosts a wide variety of exhibits showcasing works from paintings to ceramics. The gallery re-opened to the public in August 2015 after an £8 million redevelopment.

York Barbican

The York Barbican is York’s biggest entertainment venue with a 1500 seating capacity. It puts on events all year round from concerts to plays, comedy and ballets as well as the UK snooker championship.

York Castle Museum

The York Castle Museum hosts a variety of exhibits from a fully reconstructed Victorian street showing the varying lives of the rich and the poor to the castle prison which once housed the infamous Dick Turpin.

The York Explore Library, is York’s main library and is situated in the city centre, just around the corner from the Minster.
