Match Preview | Solihull Moors vs York City

Image by Tom Poole York City head to Solihull Moors for the final league game of the 2023/24 Vanarama National League fixture (12.15pm kick off). Adam Hinshelwood’s side topped off the season on home soil with a 2-0 win against Woking, a side also battling it out for survival. Goals from Billy Chadwick and Dipo Akinyemi pushed City over the 50-point mark and onto 53, but it’s still all to play for despite historical points tallies suggesting otherwise. Solihull Moors have secured their playoff spot, however continue to battle it out in order to secure the highest possible place within the quarter-finals stage. A 3-0 loss away to Bromley last Saturday meant Andy Whing’s side couldn’t quite secure a semi-finals spot, which was wrapped up by Bromley thanks to a game in hand during the week. Ticket Details Tickets are on sale through the host club’s ticketing platform. This fixture has been marked as a ‘Category A’ fixture by the host, Solihull Moors. Tickets for ‘Category A’ games at The ARMCO Arena are priced at: Adult: £22 Concessions (aged 65+ & 18-24): £17 Under 18s: £12 Under 12s: FREE All 14-year-olds and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Match Report | York City 2-0 Woking

Image by Tom Poole The Minstermen won 2-0 against Woking in the Vanarama National League at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon. A second half double from Billy Chadwick and Dipo Akinyemi wrapped up a hard fought victory at home, whilst also significantly strengthening City’s survival chances. Adam Hinshelwood made two changes to his side, drafting in Lenell John-Lewis and the returning Adam Crookes in place of Ryan Fallowfield and forward Sam Fishburn. Fallowfield was awarded 2023/24 Clubman of the Year prior to kick off, as voted for by the supporters, and was subsequently presented with the Bill Fenton Memorial Trophy. Woking talisman Ricky Korboa dragged an early chance wide for the visitors in the 8th minute. Maz Kouhyar was unlocked by Alex Hunt in the 11th minute, a curling lofted through ball landed with the winger. He took the ball into the area before checking onto his left foot and thumping narrowly over the bar. Marvin Armstrong replicated the chance a minute later, moving the ball onto his right foot inside the area, after being found by Dipo Akinyemi. Billy Chadwick was handed a big chance in the 30th minute, being slipped through by Danny Amos before stretching...

The post Match Report | York City 2-0 Woking appeared first on York City Football Club.
