  • Dipo Akinyemi returns to York City

    <p>York City are delighted to announce the signing of forward Dipo Akinyemi from Derry City, subject to international clearance. The 29-year-old returns to the LNER Community Stadium after spending two years with the Minstermen between 2023 and 2025. Akinyemi initially joined the club from Ayr United and set the tone quickly, striking home our opening goal of the 2023/24 National League season. His scoring form continued throughout, with the fans’ favourite also netting our final goal of that campaign. He finished the season with 15 goals to his name, picking up the Keith Walwyn Memorial Golden Boot as City secured their fifth-tier status. The striker also played his part in helping the Minstermen to a second-place finish and play-off campaign in 2025, before departing for Derry. He got off to an impressive start in the League of Ireland Premier Division, registering three goals and two assists in his first seven appearances. An injury curtailed his momentum during the latter stages of the campaign, but he returned to feature regularly this season, scoring three in 17 appearances. Prior to joining York for the first time, Akinyemi enjoyed a prolific spell with Ayr, scoring 24 goals and notching 11 assists.   • York City FC End of Season Supporter Survey 2025/26 Results

    <p>York City FC reiterates its commitment to delivering outstanding match-day experiences for all our supporters. In May 2026, we issued our End of Season Supporter Survey with the following aims: • To help us gain a better level of understanding about our supporters. • To provide an opportunity for supporters to share their experiences with us. • To identify areas in which we can improve our processes and practices to provide a better service. This survey mainly asked for yes/no responses or scores out of 5, which gave us some really useful insight which was simple to analyse. Each section also gave you the opportunity to provide futher comments on your answers as well to share ideas, suggestions, and experiences in greater detail, providing us with a deeper insight into your opinions.   • Frankie Maguire joins the Minstermen

    <p>We are delighted to announce the signing of Frankie Maguire, who will join the Minstermen upon the expiry of his contract at Boston United. The midfielder will officially join City on the 1st July. Frankie began his career through the ranks of Sheffield United, where he enjoyed three loan spells at Bradford Park Avenue, Chester, Kettering and Chorley. He featured over 50 times whilst out on loan before he made the permanent switch to Boston United in 2024. Whilst at the Pilgrims, he’s gone on to play over 70 times, scoring 14 times as well as assisting 14 goals. He now makes the switch to Yorkshire, joining the Minstermen in the EFL. Welcome to York, Frankie!
