Originally an excavation site, the Jorvik Viking Centre was created to show the remains of the 1,000 year old houses that were revealed. The museum has re-enacted the history of York’s Jorvik past with a special ride which takes you on a tour with audio in a variety of languages. The museum also features various displays showcasing various finds on their excavation.
